New Business & Accounts Intern, PACO Collective (Jun – Aug 2024)
RESPONSIBILITIES
I supported the agency's operations and client growth as a new business and accounts intern. My dedication was evident in curating RFPs, documentation, and presentations for new and existing business opportunities and in the daily research and outreach to identify potential clients. Additionally, I ensured compliance and accuracy by completing applications for supplier diversity portals and search consultant databases.
My role involved close collaboration with teams across Media, PR, Creative, Strategy, and Accounts, which helped me better understand how different departments contribute to an agency's success. I also supported research efforts for Exelon subsidiaries and developed a White Sox creative brief that was presented to leadership. Lastly, throughout the internship, I was actively involved in pitch and check-in meetings with clients like BMO Bank and Exelon. These high-level internal discussions gave me valuable insights into the full scope of agency operations.
WHAT I LEARNED
The skills and qualities I learned within this role helped me understand how to work effectively with people across all areas of an advertising agency. Whether collaborating with creative, media, PR, or budgeting teams, I refined my ability to communicate professionally and adapt to different perspectives, ultimately strengthening my ability to contribute to integrated campaigns.
ACHIEVEMENTS
One of my proudest achievements was winning the "Idea Most Likely to Succeed" during an inner-agency competition. This challenge required creating a campaign alongside colleagues from diverse roles, many of whom were not typically involved in campaign development. Despite the chaos and stress, we delivered a successful and well-received presentation, showcasing the ability to collaborate under pressure and think strategically in a fast-paced environment.
