Account Executive Intern, Stellar Chicago (May 2023 – August 2023)

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, the company I worked for partnered with T-Mobile to provide cellular services to needy individuals. I assisted over 450 people on government aid programs such as food stamps, Social Security, and Medicare. My work involved traveling across the Midwest, visiting inner-city Chicago, Minneapolis, and the quad cities, and directly engaging with high-crime and high-poverty communities daily.

WHAT I LEARNED

My role went beyond simply distributing phones. I was dedicated to ensuring that individuals had reliable communication for a year, connecting them to jobs, loved ones, and essential services. This required high perseverance, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse and challenging backgrounds.

Through this role, I developed a deep sense of humility and gained a profound understanding of the struggles others endure. This experience has left an indelible mark on me, shaping me into a more empathetic and resilient individual.

ACHIEVEMENTS

A key achievement of mine was helping countless individuals get back on their feet by providing the tools they needed to find employment. This experience underscored how life-changing access to a phone can be, as it is a vital lifeline for stability, opportunity, and connection.
